Best stop leak for oil I've found is a new gasket. A can of stop leak for any fluid may stop the leak, but it's gonna do the same thing to the inside of your engine, it may clog up all your other "passages" and that would be bad. Myself, if I couldn't fix the leak right of way, I'd let her blead a lil bit till I could get the gasket.

I do not think a stop leak for engine oil is such a good idea.

As I understand it, this stuff swells rubber seals and the like but is
not very effective on cork type gaskets. If this is a 1990 with original
gaskets, possibly you may still have the cork type gaskets.

Oil certainly not cheap these days but the oil stop leak is fairly expensive itself.

Were it mine, I would keep adding oil until I could afford to change the
gaskets.

Good luck.

Thanks for the heads up guys, ill just continue adding oil to like i usually do. Im pretty sure now after looking into it that this is a job i can tackle, shouldn't be to tough, if i get in a jam ive got some back up i can call lol.

Oh and yeah it does have the original cork gaskets which ill replace with some high quality rubber ones.

Not a bad idea. While the intake is off clean the screen that is under the pcv valve, replace the pcv valve and any vacuum hoses you can see.

Ok ill give it a cleaning, plus im probably gonna clean the whole upper intake while its off maybe even the lower intake too. And since my valve covers have seen better days and look like crap ill give them a good coat of enamel paint and send them on there merry way.

The first thing to do is clean the engine up before you start your project. Starting with a nice clean engine is so nice.

most definitely, im gonna use a heated pressure washer to clean off some of the grease and stuff. but i usually keep a really clean and clear engine bay.
