Default Warning chime? Not seatbelt!!! Help!!!

So i have an 04 wit a 5.4 xlt 4x4.

Lately, my truck has started to sound a warning chime while im driving. It is not the seat-belt chime, or the keys in, lights on etc.... Chime.

The chime is the same one as you get when your fuel gets low enough that the truck is warning you. As you know this causes it to sound one time and the monitor says low fuel.

my problem... the chime is now sounding off at random times when i clearly have plenty of gas but it will sound off 5 times in a row and does it 6 times consecutively for a total of 30 times!!!!! This is incredibely annoying and i have called my local dealer and they have no clue what the problem is. When the chime is going off i look at my guages and all are reading good. I have checked all of my fluids and they are good. The computer doesnt show anything either. No warning lights... Nothing!!! The truck is running great, starts right up, and has no noticeable problems...

I just had my truck in for service 3 weeks ago and spent 1800 bucks. They are telling me to bring it in, and id rather not bc just a diagnosis is lik 80 bucks or something like that. Can anyone help me????

Just a note.... I have one other problem but i doubt they are linked. My seatbelt sensor is screwed up. I have to have my seat-belt on before i start my truck or it will continuously chime(again a different sounding chime). Even if while driving i put it on, for some reason it is not sensing that i have put it on. I will have to pull over stop shut off my truck, bckle up, start her up and continue on my way. This goes for both front seats.

Wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol

thank you in advance,

maxx

Sounds like you may just have to buck up and at least take it in to the dealer for the diagnosis, if nothing else. Then make the determination if you want it fixed there, at another shop, or just leave it alone.

Default Get a solution?

Did you find anything out?
My F150 started doing the same thing over a year ago and the garage I brought it to could not find anything wrong.
They said it may be my computer and they could try and trouble shoot it but it could get costly with no guarentee.
I have been ignoring it for the last year-truck runs OK, but man is it annoying.
Now I want to trade it in but am afraid the signal may keep me from being able to.....
What did you do?

Air Bag warning? I searched the forum and another guy said it was some type of air bag warning but never said how they fixed it. Search tones and beeps and you will find his information.

Default it's the airbags.

there are recalls out for 2005 and beyond; but not for the 2004.

You'll prolly notice that when you start the truck; they airbag light may come on, then fade away. When it goes out the chimes start 5 x 5; Flippin annoying!

I will try to buckle my seat belt before turning on the key! But like you all said, it will be greath to know what's going on!
