Coolant

Coolant
I have a 2015 F150. Went to the dealership today to get a jug of coolant to top my mine off a bit. I told them mine currently has the orange coolant. The guy gave me yellow and said it was fine to mix. Does that sound right? I'm not someone that's mechanically inclined so I truly don't know. But I do know that I've read not to mix.

"- Do not mix different colors or types of antifreeze/coolant in your vehicle unless directed by the vehicle manufacturer to do so. It is important to use the correct antifreeze/coolant.
Mixing of antifreeze/coolants or using an incorrect antifreeze/coolant may harm the engine (or electric motor) or cooling system components and may not be covered by the
vehicle Warranty"

They do have an orange "revitalizer" though. In the ad copy they do talk about mixing yellow and orange. Kind of a confusing web site.
"For use only in the following vehicles installed with Motorcraft® Orange Antifreeze/Coolant OR a mixture of both Motorcraft® Orange Antifreeze/Coolant and Motorcraft Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant:"

I find Motorcraft's documents to be kind of confusing in the way they're written and their web site is hard to use. But here's a recent post that answers the OP's question. Weird how Motorcraft talks about the vehicle manufacturer but people consider Motorcraft and Ford to be one and the same. Kind of like talking about yourself in the third person.
