Default tune up cost

Well i called local shop to see how much it would cost for a tune up on a 05 5.4 and they quoted me at 350+ and up to 650..holy hell..is there a way to do this cheaper..there all afraid of plugs breaking.

Thats a pretty normal pricing for 5.4 plugs. Only way to get it cheaper is to get price quotes from other shops, or do it yourself.

350-650 is pretty cheap I wouldn't do it for less then that, they are guaranteed to break, can be very time consuming to remove them

I can rent tool to extract broken ones..so thays no big deal. Just wondering if i can do it.

For 600 or less I wouldn't bother doing it myself. They are a major pain, especially at the back. Not as bad on a 150, but if you are running a HD, definitely not worth it. If you have a full day to waste, then by all means.

Not sure what the big upset is.

f-150's get a bad wrap for spark plugs jobs, but honestly a can a Pb blaster or liquid wrench, a 3" and 6 or 8" extension with a u-joint with a side a patience and you can do DIY. You'll be glad ya did and you'll save $400+ dollars

Don't forget the torque wrench!
