Yes, you probably have rear disc pads for the normal brakes, parking brake might be drums. The drum/disc is a combo unit. Most likely changing the pads only for the shaking will not correct the problem. Need to have the rotors surfaced if tolerances will allow. Machine shop will inform you of that.

Default thanks guys

went to auto supply store, rotors were 150/each and pads were 50. so $350 for a diy job. went next door to meineke in boise and they installed brand new rotors and gave me a lifetime warranty on my new brake pads for $390. was this a good price? most places charged 6-700. anyway, my truck is fixed. Thanks for the help

Just incase any of you are wondering it is cause my a warped rotor, or a cracked rotor. resurfacing really shouldnt be done unless you dont have the money to buy new rotors. Where I work we rarely resurface rotors.

yeah, the manager of the shop said he could have resurfaced them and it would have helped, but then he gave me a good price for replacing the rotors and pads. what i dont understand is it that my truck is 2006 with 51,000 miles. My last truck was a 2000 reg cab F150 and all i had to do was replace the pads after about 100k miles. Are the manufacturers just making these lighter and crapier to meet weight standards??
