Same Problem
I am having the same problem that occurs in the right side of my 93 F150.I can go over 30 miles and hour and hit any small bump or pothole and it starts to wobbel or shake.I have to come to a complete stop to settel it down.My 93 F150 was a farm truck before I bought so dont know too much of its history or maintenance on it.I have read some of the posts and no one has yet to figure it out.So i am determined to find out to what it is some say u joints others say bad shock or ball joints well we will see what it is.I would love some help with this anyone feel free to email me if you have any suggestions.

What about shocks??? I mean it's one if the first things you check when it comes to checking your suspesnsion and commonly ovelooked. I had a similar problem buy it's also quite differmt too. My 94 had a loose shock up in the front right and caused me to shake at highway speeds and later my back left one was busted and shakes when I have it to much throttle if ya have ha a bust rear shock you know what im talking about. Bit also Ive heard of ppl having shaking problems due to bad bushings between the truck and frame and also my boss said something about those truck have those problems and he thinks it is because the shock are mounted outside the frame but hey that's all I know so I hope it helps.

so let me get this straight... shock, drive shaft, warped rotor, bushings, ball joints, cracked frame... O boy where do I start!? I have the same problem and have been trying to fix it since I bought the truck. Wheres a good place to start?! I have had my balancing done three times already so I know its not that. I have the same problem with the bed of the truck shaking and before I got them balanced the shake was so violent I thought the doors were going to break right off.

I've checked everything too that I could think of. As I've stated in the past, my issue only appears in warmer weather. During the winter, I did not notice it at all. now that it's been warming up, I'm starting to notice it again. Drive shaft is good. Shocks are good. Tires, wheels, and alignment are good. I haven't checked the frame for any cracks. Front end is good.
It HAS to be something temperature related I think. The simple fact that it happens when warm outside and not when it's colder would seem to indicate that. But what would be affected by temperature other than normal vehicle temps (i.e. heat from engine, exhaust, etc.).
What am I missing?

tire skimmer
I know YOU have done some things to rule out "tire out of round" but for discussion;
I had some good tread high buck tires on a sensitive low car (spelled 944), they gave me the shimmies. Probably a flat spot from abusing corners.
I found an old guy with a truing machine; universal sort of axle to hang the tire/wheel and a 1/3 HP motor with a round slicer ( think can opener type blade...) slung from a track.
He skimmed off a couple 32s from the high spots, put my tires in round and I never felt a better ride. Its cost a little rubber but certainly less than throwing away good tires.
He said that little machine used to keep him busy & fed all the time during bias ply days.
Wonder if any tire sipe guys are fixed to do that. Seem pretty easy to build such a machine and advertise. might even try to rig something up to do it on car.

shocking
shocks and springs work together, matched performance. Wear either one out, or change out one side of the equation with a super duper type (ie not matched) could set off resonance. Shock damping rate needs to match up with the spring to be steady.
that btw is a good argument against variable rate springs - hard to find , even design, a shock to match both rates
Tough to nail down a dynamic problem with static tests. Have someone drive along you from various angles, set off the wobble and see what they notice ?

Has anyone tried checking the steering damper? It's an important yet often overlooked part that controls oscillations/vibrations in the steering system in the same way a shock absorber (that's all the damper is) works with the suspension. They are easy to replace and are cheap.

I have an 04- FX4 w/ 37500 mi . since new ,never been beat , never been off road , grass does not count , have the same issue ,intermitent vibrations , it happens at different speeds ,different days . when I pull over and walk around , check the wheels ( not loose !), then pull away , everything is normal
