I definitely read some before I posted and knew what Ford said about the trans fluid. Even then, at 150k they still wouldn't be changing the filter.

I haven't done as extensive research on this, but have found a few different answers; torque inch lbs on the transmission pan bolts?

It's a 2011 5.0

Many thanks. Should get to this in a bit and see how the fluid is looking.

This is where the dipstick is and where I'd fill it back up isn't it?

I get a bit turned around when working from underneath, would I turn left to loosen as if I were looking down at it?

OH and once you pull the old filter make sure the rubber seal comes out of the valve body, they usually stick, be very careful not to scratch that hole when you pop it out with a small crow foot or bent screwdriver. If you don't get it out the new filter will not seat and cause a no pull situation as it will be sucking air instead of fluid.

Seal came out with the filter. Fluid looked good, but it's definitely nice to know for certain since I didn't put the first 67K on it. Not much sediment on the magnet either.

I've got a tad bit of white smoke from under the hood after I let it warm up for 10 minutes. I shifted through all the gears without issue. I'll go lay down under it while it runs, but guessing it's burn off from fluid that got elsewhere?

Should I let it warm up (then cool off for a few) and top it off?

You have to check it hot, in park with the engine running.

That picture right there proves Ford's recommendation of change intervals, you have almost 70,000 miles and it's a pretty pink, that trans would have easily gone way past 150,000 without changing. The magnet and pan both clean is exactly the way a healthy trans should be. They don't pay 6 digits on engineers salary for nothing.

As close as the exhaust system is to the trans dip stick/pan area it's highly likely you got some on the pipes and is burning off.
