Default Sudden engine fail safe on acceleration

Motor cut out several times in 4 months . Very dangerous ,could cause a wreck at the wrong time.
I figured it was throttle position sensor, auto zone downloaded codes and confirmed it . Bought their lifetime guaranteed one for 69 bucks , runs better than new. Had not realized it had become sluggish until I replaced it .
Simple job- just make sure you tape star drive tip in so it doesn't fall into engine recesses .
2005 f150 lariat 5.4 liter 3v at 138,000 mile.

Default Thought the tps fixed it not so !

It acted up again twice , pulled throttle body and cleaned it , not that bad at 138,000. It seems this is the old troublesome throttle body the 3L series , ordered new style off ebay oem 200 bucks including shipping. Dealer here wants 364. This comes complete with tps and all.
Will see if this fixes it in a few days . I will play with the old one by applying test volts to motor . I assume its around 5 vdc from the ecm . Just have to check the polarity first. Don't want to mess with it until I get the new one.
I will post the new body number when I get it ./ Should be
8L3Z-9E926-C.

Default didn't fix it

I thought it fixed it-- but no , drives better but then it quit again . I found I have a model number throttle body that has been troubled. Starts with a 3L number . I ordered a new model number ebay oem 200 bucks. meanwhile I took it off and cleaned it real good . It wasn't too bad as I keep good air filters in it . Waiting on mail part. Dealer wanted 364.

Default changed throttle body

To soon to tell- it may take a month or so . The new version came from ebay
went on easy . Didn't put a new gasket on, the old one looked good . Very easy to remove and replace if you want to clean it . I cleaned the old one and ran it for a week till the new one got here. The crap in here is tough stuff ,cleaner, old tooth brush and rags are necessary. Must come from pcv valve , why not have a large filter on pcv valve that you could throw away ??? This stuff is like tar.

Default changed out all injectors

running good-- got oem ebay new around 200 bucks. changed fuel filter first . Now at 141k , Could not find fuel pump relay to relieve fuel pressure , seems ford soldered it in on back of passenger fuse panel , not serviceable would have to change out whole fuse panel . dumb and dumber . pulled battery ground and let it sit for a long while . going to look at a new ram truck next time .

Too bad you were just over the fuel injector warranty on your truck. A lot of 2005's had bad injectors, but Ford didn't know which ones. They warrantied all 2005 injectors to 13 years and 136k miles. I had two go bad two years ago at 80k miles, and it was covered once I showed them the TSB. They originally wanted to charge me several hundred for flow balancing, etc.. so they could determine the bad injectors.

Now I'm suffering the same throttle body sensor issues. Mine's cut off twice in the last week. Codes from tuner are saying throttle sensor A, System too lean, throttle control system forced open, and throttle actuation control system stuck closed.
