Alright here's my problem. The other day l started up my truck and put it reverse and the truck would not engage in the reverse gear I put in neutral and then I put I tried to put it in reveres gear. This has only happened twice in the same week. This week was however extremely cold with temperatures dipping down into single digits at night. Then the other day I was driving around the town and when I came to a stop and started back up the truck just reved up the idled down I hit the gas again and the truck started to move normally.

The truck has never acted up outside of these occurrences. Another point to mention is that the truck has never acted up when it has had time to warm up or when the temps outside are warm.

I have a 2005 f150 with a 5.4 with 99k miles

Any ideas will be much appreciated.
