shifter **** removal help!!!!!!
I'm new to the forum and dearly need some help with my little problem. I've just purchased a used 2006 4X4 King Ranch and the shifter **** needs replacing. I bought a new one but cannot get the old one off. I pulled the chrome shifter release button out which should pull a pin that allows you to pull the **** up and off the shifter shaft, but no go. It doesn't budge at all. Is there another something that I need to push or pull to get this thing off? I'd appreciate any advice.

Gear Shifter **** Removal
The top off my gear shifter broke off. I bought the new part from the Ford Dealership, but can't seem to get the old shifter off. Has anyone had any success in removing the old gear shifter ****?
