crank no start please help!
I have a 2007 F150 Lariat Crew cab 4x4 5.4.
It started missing. check engine light came on. 1 code 4 times. P0355. reset.
next day still missing, drove about 40 miles with plans to replace the #5 COP
at lunch. Before lunch checked again and reset. 2 codes, both P0355.
Went to lunch, came out and would not start. Tried multiple times. Crank no start and no new codes. Bought a new COP and replaced still no start. I could hear fuel pump come on in the tank. I replaced the fuel filter because I knew it was due. Still no crank. Battery went dead, I replaced with a new battery also knowing it was weak. Still no start no codes. Sprayed some starting fluid in the intake (filter out) Still no crank, not even a hit. Spoke with a friend
(former Ford tech) suggested replacing crank position sensor, I did. still no start. Got frustrated, towed to an independent shop VERY close by. They replaced both Cam position sensors and still no start. Shop ran complete KOEO diagnostics with a Snap on scanner. He said "all modules failed"
now has no clue. ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE.

crank no start
I had hoped maybe some experienced Ford tech guys would have had some suggestions on my problem. I reference this forum often for help and have had great results just reading. This was my first time posting a problem.
UPDATE: The independent shop I towed to came up with nothing after a week. He was certain that the PCM had died. He called a friend with a "Ford computer". He Said the #5 coil wire had rubbed on the bracket above it and shorted out. He repaired the wire and the "Ford computer" rebooted my PCM.
So after a Crankshaft position sensor and 2 camshaft position sensors that I didn't need, and 4 hrs additional diagnostic labor ( he says was 12 hrs but only charged for 4) a 761.38 bill, I finally have my truck back running great.
I am a decent backyard mechanic and love the process of elimination but the job was a little above my abilities with the PCM. I am curious about the "Ford computer" vs the Snap On. I am curious about why the short completely shut down the PCM. I am curious about the "Ford computer" rebooting my PCM back to life.(claims from the shop)
I would love some feedback from you Ford people that are smarter than I am about this whole scenario.
Also, I hope this info helps someone in the future as my Ford has absolutely no mods and surely I am or will not be the only one experiencing this rub through on a factory bracket short.

Sounds to me like the harness shorted to ground on the fuel rail, very unusual at best so I wouldn't expect many (if any) others wind up with the same problem.
Just one of those things.
