Serpentine belt
I have an '04 w/ 70,000 miles. My Serpentine belt looks good to me, I don't see any cracks. First 4 years the truck was in Southern CA. The last 2 years it's been in AZ where it's very dry and hot.
Is it time to replace the belt at this amount of age/milage?
Thanks

About Safety and Sorrow:
No harm at all in making the replacement....and while you're in there, check the condition of the bearings in the idler pully and tensioner pulley.
The belt in my '97 looked good, but I knew it was long-in-the-tooth, so I set about replacing it. During the procedure I found the idler pulley bearing was very rough. I opted to replace the pulley and bearing as a unit, but I could have pressed out the old bearing (NTN 6203LH) and pressed in a new at half the price.
