Default Rotors and Pads, 2004+ new body style

It's about time to replace the rotors and pads on my `04 F150 SuperCrew FX4 and I am trying to get a feel for which is the best rotors to go with whether it be O.E., Motorcraft, or whatever brand Autozone/Checker/CarQuest may have to offer. Your thoughts?

Also, same with pads; O.E., Motorcraft, or off brand. More than likely I will be going with the Ceramic pads if I go off brand. Again, what are your thoughts.

Use good quality aftermarket parts. Wagner Rotors and pads. Stay away from the auto store brands. The rotors are very expensive, don't be shocked !!

He is exactly right. I went with the house brand rotors from Advance and the bearings in both rotors went out in under 6 months. I have wagners on the front now and have no problem.

Price is not so bad for the 4wd trucks, but the 2wds owners will be in shock when they need new ones.

Why is there such a reserve on the auto parts store brand?... I use the Duralast Gold and it works great... They put a lifetime warranty on the pads... I dont know... maybe I am missing something... please clue me in

I've got a 2 wheel drive and the rotors were high, even with my discount. Of course being a Ford it needed them after the 1st 4 months. I used the ones from Advance (Checkers where you are), along with their ceramic pads from Wagner. It's been a year and a half with no problems.

I've had pretty good luck with Napa myself. No problems.

Am wondering what happened to jvbest, new rotors after 4 months, that seems strange to me. Need some truth here. Something else is not being told.

Only truth is, they started pulsating after 4 months. I drive it hard, and Ford pads outlast the rotors.
'Course the dealer wouldn't cover any of it.

The 12month/12k mileage warranty covers them if you bought it brand new
