A riddle for the experts
I have a 2006 f150 fx4 5.4l. I was doing some yard saleing yesterday (short stop n go) and it was hot outside. Toward the end of the day I started the truck and backed out onto the road. As I shifted to drive the truck stalled. It started right back up and ran very rough for a few seconds but straightened up. On the way home it started acting up again. It acted like a miss or something but as I drove it home I noticed that it was happening in certain gears. When I start out from a stop it runs ok but as soon as it shifts to second it boggs down and seems to miss and carry on. If I floor it it shifts kind of rough and takes off. I have replaced the plugs and coils about a year ago. I used the one piece champion plugs. I also checked the trans fluid and it was full. It still looks pinkish color. Trans does not seem to be slipping. Not really sure where to go from here. Any help would be great. Thanks

Has FPDM been replaced? Check it for corrosion.
Any codes or engine light?
Clean the MAF and throttle body recently?
Many people say that Motorcraft plugs are the only ones the 5.4's like.
Just a few possibilities listed.

Start by disconnecting the PCM. Many times a connector causes ghost in the machine like symptoms. Not sure where it's located on your year but it might be accessible under the hood on the firewall. Has a connector with at least 104 wires so it should be obvious when you find it. Here's a pic of mine for reference. The top center of screen with 3 large connectors. Remove them all and check for corrosion then reconnect.
