Default Replace Transmission Fluid & Filter 03

OK. The truck has 113K on it and the tranny fluid looks rough. No slips, although it does have the torque converter chatter on occasion (like going over rumble strips), and hesitates a second when shifting into D after start up. I bought the truck with 107K on it a few months ago. Knowing the original owner, I do not think it was ever changed or serviced. I am torn between doing a simple pan drop or following this fluid exchange procedure: https://sites.google.com/site/fordf1...nge-procedures

Any thoughts or suggestions?

2005 Fx 4 150 with 120,000 when bought. Had the fluid changed (nasty) pan drop included backflush? Slowing changing all fluids , front/rear diff, transfer case etc. did wonders for shifting etc. & piece of mind..
As far as the "rumble strips sound" did that when accelerating from 45 to 55 mph with the rpms starting at 1000 then went away at 1200 rpm or 55 mph, google this site(tranny shudder) for more info . Replace sparks plugs went away low speed stutter is what it was..

Opted for the pan drop and filter. I was correct. The plug from the factory was floating in the pan. No more hesitation going into D and it just feels like the tranny is more responsive. No torque convertor shudder since the change, but we will see...it was not happening that often anyhow. If it recurs, I'll look into changing the plugs. I suspect they are factory as well. If they were easier to change (like they SHOULD be), I would have done that already...simply for peace-of-mind. While I was down there, I changed the transfer case fluid as well. All is good!
