Default Rear diff cover over tightened

Replaced rear diff oil. it looks like I over tighten one of the bolts on bottom and its leaking there. I say it looks like I over tighten it because it appears it's slightly bent.

Do I need a new diff cover or can I redo the seal and slap it back on there torqued correctly?

Also, parts store gave me a gasket when I bought the gear oil. Is that the route to go or should I use a tube of rtf? I also read somebody using Permatex "The right stuff" because it sets harder and the truck can be driven immediately rather than waiting 24 hours. Any thoughts on that?

You should be able to tap it straight with a hammer. I never use the cork gaskets, always used grey RTV.
