Default Rancho Quiklift Suspension Help

At 100,000 mi. I rebuilt my front end with new upper control arms, lower ball joints, tie rod ends, and sway bar linkage. Then I installed a new set of Rancho quiklift struts.
The problem im having is when my front tires drop down off a bump or a pot hole and extend the strut i get a really hard bang in the front end. Nothing on the compression side of it though.
When I jack the front end up i am measuring about 1 3/4" of travel, which doesnt seem like enough to me. I see nothing else hitting when it is jacked up with the tires hanging.
