Default Preventative maintenance and fluid suggestions

Recently bought an 04 f150 lariat 5.4 4x4 82k miles for $12,900

Currently doing some preventative maintenance I do to all my vehicles and looking for some suggestions since I'm unfamiliar with the common problems other than what I'm reading here on stickys (thanx for those!)

Just replaced the tranny filter (factory Motocraft) and the ~5 quarts of fluid that sits in the pan (Motocraft Mercon V). Decided not to flush TC through return line.

Next I'm planning to replace front & rear axle fluids along with the transfer case fluid. Shortly after that I will do the coolant, brake fluid, and power steering fluid (its just how I am).

Does anyone suggest anything different for fluids other than what the manual says? Royal purple in axles? Amsoil in T-case? Any suggestions are appreciated, here are the recommended fluids per the owners manual I currently plan to use:

Transfer case fluid:
Motocraft Mercon ATF

Rear end axle fluid:
Motocraft SAE 75W-90

Front end axle fluid:
Motorcraft SAE 75W-90

Book also says*
*Add 4oz of FEHP friction modifier XL-7 or equivalent for complete refill of Traction-Lok axles*

I know I have the LSD rear (B6 code if I remember correctly); so I will need to add 4oz of modifier (8 oz total) to both the front and the rear differentials correct?? Any brand suggestions for the modifier?

What other things should I be keeping an eye on or replacing for preventative maintenance?

Thanks! I greatly appreciate any and all opinions/suggestions.

Rear diff 3 quarts of 75w-140 4-8 ounces of Friction modifier- if you have a LS

Front: 80w-90 3.7 pints (1.85 quarts)

IM not a fan of royal purple.

Any brand suggestions? Why do you suggest different weight lube than recommended?

Thanks!

Any brand ATF in the transfer case will do. It's just an oil bath.

I use Mobil 1 in most of my axles.

Anyone else have any brand suggestions? Do I need 4oz of Friction modifier per axle or 8oz per axle? Do I even need friction modifier in the front axle?

Can I use the Mercon V ATF in the transfer case instead of the recommended regular Mercon ATF?

Any other preventative maintenance suggestions for 85k miles?

Thanks!

All you need is 6-8 oz bottle in the rear for the LS. Get the ford recommend tcase fluid, it works better and has additives. Only takes 2 QTs.

Flush coolant
breaks
power steering

Replace plugs/COPs (id do this first)

Replace fuel filter

Thanks I really appreciate it!

I'll look into plugs and COPs, any brand suggestion?
It seems the factory oem ones are around $80 each, what do you think about these 82438 MSDs?

Your COP'S aren't as important atm then plugs, seeing the truck only has less then 100k I'd do plugs first then buy some COPS unless you're the type to do it all at once.

Change the plugs using Motprcraft as suggested, if the truck is running fine, leave the COP'S alone. No use changing a good part.
