Default Positive traction auto engages every morning

Hoping someone here might know what the problem is so I don't have to deal with the Ford Dealer. I have a 2013 FX4 and over the past month, it has been engaging the positive traction at initial start up. The indicator light on the dash is on and the tires are chirping and jerking when I turn. At first, I would shift into 4hi and then back to 2hi and the problem would go away. Then I learned that I could simply touch the gearcase shifter control **** and it would turn off positive traction. I know it doesnt sound right, but its true. No matter how long I would wait when I crank it in the morning (sitting idling in park) the positive traction light would stay on until I simply touch the control ****. I don't have to turn or push/pull. Once I get going, it never happens again for the rest of the day. Until this morning. It did it twice and hasn't messed up again since. I've been dealing with it since I found a solution, but I know its not right and I am concerned that it may get worse. Anyone have anything like this happen? I am thinking about tearing into it myself but just not sure. It is under warranty still, I just know how big of an ordeal that will be with the dealer.

Thanks

When you say "positive traction" do you mean locking rear differential?

Sounds like the switch might have a short in it. Just to make sure though, when you say touch the **** you are literally saying that all you do is tap it with a finger? Does the switch visibly move in at all or just turns the locker off when you tap it?

I'm inclined to guess the same thing. Sounds like an electrical problem, probably in the switch itself or elsewhere

Thanks guys. That is correct, all I do is touch it. No pressure is put on it. It doesn't move that I am aware of. It seems extremely odd to me, but it has working that way for about a month now.

somfas,
I've got the very same problem that just started on my 2013 F-150. Haven't tried tapping the button yet, but it seems to disenage if I go switch to 4x4 Hi and back to 2H. If it doesn't go away then, when I accelerate then slow down, I get a display message to slow to under 20 mph to engage the diff lock. Short in the switch makes sense. Something is trying to tell the electronics to engage. Hope it's there. Thanks for your input.
