Default Synthetic Blend in High Mileage Vehicle?

So I just spent over and hour using the search button and havent found what I am looking for. I recently bought a 1994 F150 4x4 with the Big 6 and auto tranny. I have all the usual tune up stuff nailed down except which oil I am going to use. I would prefer to use Motorcraft but the only oil I can find by them is a synthetic blend. Oh, forgot to mention she has 225k miles on her. I have no leaks currently and plan on keeping it that way. Would I be asking for trouble using a synthetic blend? I cant afford to be replacing all of my seals. I do not plan on going full synthetic either. I just want a good quality oil and Motorcraft has Ford all over it so I figure I cant go wrong. What say you gentlemen?

What is the oil weight? If it's 5W20 then you're already running synthetic oil as 5W20 is synthetic.

I don't think it would really mater unless the guy before you was using it. Do you plan on abusing it or anything? because if your just going to drive it it really doesn't mater as long as you change your oil on a regular bases.

You won't have any problems running a blend. Before you change your oil, crawl under and check the oil pan for rust or soft spots. The older 4.9 and 5.0/5.8 are known for that issue.

The recommended viscosity for a 300 6 cyl is 10W30 oil. I wouldn't recommend 5W20 in that engine.
