I have a 99 f150 that I keep dumping money into it. Has anybody ever changed head gaskets on a 99 F 150. if so how hard is it and how long does it take. I have the v8 5.4 tritan. any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Head gasket replacement is not difficult and can be done in a few days full time. I'm a backyard mechanic and the last set I did on my F-250 took a week working after I got home from work. As long as you have all the right tools and plenty of room to place parts in order as you take it apart you'll be fine. I took my heads to a machine shop and had them gone through for about $200 since it was all apart. If you're selling it don't waste the money. Gaskets and all the other fluids and sealers (using Motorcraft parts) will run about $450. I know it's a lot of money but there are no short cuts. Good luck
