I have a 04 150 5.4 with 160,000.00 miles I change my plugs at 80,000 with no problem just turn it 1/4 turn with my pal wd-40 next to me it took all day but nothing broke I will soon do it again do not know if I will be lucky .... If there is a better way to do it or special tool to buy let me know

yes the 2006 5.4 have the same issue, just replace the #1 plug with only 5600 miles on it and the plug was missing about 1/2 inch from the tip,,tonight was the #1 in 2 weeks it may be the #6 or #3 and it seem that one at the time will break the part of the tip from 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch,,,so I cariie a spare plug and coil at all time,,,love to meet the engineer that made that plug he would swallow them all from the rear end,,,

if you change your plug just make sure you warm up the engine first they come out real easy and use some anti seize on the trhead when installing them and do not over torque
