Ok, I had a Autozone fan clutch that was sever duty rated on my truck, problem was, was it was running 90% of the time, even when it was 65 degrees outside on the highway it would kick on. I just replaced it with this Motorcraft unit which is for my truck but rated regular duty. Now my truck is running at the upper end of the heat gauge. Its only in the mid 90's today and with the a/c on if I hit a stop light the needle is close to the red.

You can adjust the sensitivity by moving spring so it opens faster when needed. The clutch should briefly engage when cold and first started, that's best way to tell if it's okay.
