A 5w30 oil isn't going to hurt anything, my 97 even calls for it to be used. A 5w30 oil gets to the top of the engine just as fast as a 5w20 oil does at start up.

There is a trade off of higher pressure.. You sacrifice flow. The oil acts to cool the engine as well as lubricate. Less flow equals higher oil temps. Friction in the oil passages create heat in the oil as well. Best to run oil close to recommended spec.
