About 6 months ago the door locks, windows in the drivers door and coded lock on the outside of the door would not work. I would open and shut the door again and they would all work. Now they have all quit working all together. No electric windows, no electric locks, and when I shut off the engine and take the key out the radio does not shut off. Is this an easy fix or is there a massive hunt for a short in my future?

In my 05 I checked the wires in that rubber boot that's between the door and the frame. I had a couple wires the had broke apart. I have no idea about the radio though =/ I hope this helps!

I have also been experiencing driver's door switch panel "issues". Prior to today, the switches would only operate with the door 3/4 closed or more. Occasionally, the window rocker switches would only operate if I applied a slight sideways pressure to the switch(is this even related? May be a separate issue). But as of this morning I have no driver's side lock, window or keyless entry pad function whatsoever. Window switches will not work on any of the other door panels either. Passenger side door lock is OK.
I suspect a short in the wiring in the vicinity of the door jamb. I guess that could account for losing power to the switch panel and keyless entry at the same time. Does anyone know if the power for all the windows runs through this panel? And has anyone else experienced this situation? Please help.

I do believe all your wires will run through there(I think at least =S ) but you check in other areas as well. Ramoseley I had the same problem it was a severed wire in the door jam. I had to add two jumper wires( the yellow one with the blue clips and that Black one. The wires both severed completely! =O well I hope this helps! =D

Thanks, to all for your assistance. I have briefly checked the wiring in boot between the door and frame but have not actually removed the boot and looked closely. Sounds like thats what I need to do. Thanks again.

Thanks FLF, that's where I'm guessing the prob is. Can you briefly explain how you got to this point, i.e. how'd you get the wiring-boot latch out of hole in the cab. Mine gets obstructed by the door before I can get it all the way free of the cab and that's where I stopped. That thing in the top of your pic, is that meant to limit the door travel? If I loosen those star bolts can I open the door far enough to get the boot latch out of the cab? And, did you have to remove the door panel in order to slide the boot out of the way?

Fixed. Turns out it was two broken wires, a black and a light blue w/black stripe, inside the rubber boot that protects the wiring in the door jamb. Also turns out that the wiring harness leaving the door ends in a connector body that plugs into the cab. I had to unplug the connector, then pull the other end of the boot out of the door hole and scrunch it down next to the connector body, to do the work. Both wires broke less than an inch from the connector body. Very tough to get connectors onto the stubby remains of the broken wires, so a new door wiring harness is def. in my future but for now my windows, locks & keypad all work again! I apologize for not having pics to include but I can’t find my cable to transfer pics off my camera.

I apologize for not getting back to you sooner I did miner in a parking lot so I just had to pull the boot from the frame and stuff it in the door to do it.
I was going to tell you to do what you did just have not sat down until now. XD but that's correct I did jumper wires with mine because they broke in the middle of the boot area. I'm glad you got it fixed! =D

No Worries FLF, I also had to splice in jumpers, there just aint any extra wire there to facilitate a repair. The difference between yours and mine: your wires continue on into the cab whereas mine terminate in a plastic connector body at the cab, and the boot can't be slid out of the way because it's attached to the connector body. Nice huh? Hope any of this is of use to the OP - but it seems like he might be long gone ...Probably fixed it on his own w/o any further jibber jabber from us.
