Left front hum

Default Left front hum

So I recently acquired a 2006 Ford f-150 xl 4.6 V8, 130,000 miles. Changed the plugs, motor runs sweet. After a trip to Wisconsin and back to Georgia, the left front started humming as the truck accelerates and gets louder as I move the steering wheel to the left. I just replaced the upper ball joint as it was loose. I noticed I will soon need to do a brake job. Is it possible that the bearings in the hub are wearing down? I am no mechanic but YouTube has helped me change a lot of parts, John

Sounds like it could be the bearings.

Most likely a rotor bearing then.

thanks, exactly what I am thinking. will be doing the brake job soon, both front and back with new rotors and pads, fronts with the rotor hub combo

That should solve your hum.. just inspect everything real good while your in there.

I will, this will be my first brake job alone, but confident I will inspect all areas and do the job correctly, to include checking the parking brake pads
