Default Kick Back when switching gears

Whenever im on the freeway and going usually going above 35 and the truck tries to switch gears. It always seems to give the whole truck a strong kick back. I don't know if the gears are slipping when trying to shift. Or if something else is causing the problem. If im idleing at about 1600 RPMs, that's when its the worst. If I don't let go of the gas pedal then it will just keep kicking the truck back over and over. I just changed the spark plugs about two months ago. Thinking that was the issue. But I have changed them and its still doing it. I have a 2011 V6 Ecoboost with about 38,000 miles on it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
