Inside front tire wear, only 23k miles
Hi everybody,
I drive a 2005 F-150 XLT 4.6 and it has 23,000 original miles. When I bought the truck last year, it had 15,000 miles on it.
The other day I noticed the inside of the front tires were wearing rather rapidly compared to the rest of the tire. What could be causing this? I have searched previous threads and found similar questions EXCEPT those trucks had much higher miles. I would have a hard time believing that the front end could be out of alignment already or require ball joints/tie rods to be replaced. I have yet to rotate the tires since I have owned it, they are hankooks, and to the best of my knowledge...factory tires (still with a lot of tread remaining).

Most drivers are unaware that the alignment on any vehicle can be knocked out with one curb bump or hitting a large pothole. It only has to do with mileage when the front suspension components start to wear out. I would suggest finding a shop that will give you a 1,2,or 3 year warranty on an alignment and get it done. Also be aware you want a 4 wheel alignment done in the event the rear axle is out as well. This kind of service usually runs $100 to $150 depending on what warranty you ask for. Good luck.
