I have a weird humming noise coming from either left front or back, it stops when i let off gas. I am certain its not the tires, as they came off truck i just traded in brand new, and just had them balanced.
Noticable at higher speeds and let off gas or put in neutral no sound.
Any thoughts?

Having the same problems with the driver side rear on my '98 F150. Been doing it for quite some time. Finally figured it out last month....wheel bearing.

I have a howl coming from the passenger side of the rear end in my 2002 Supercrew. I talked to a mechanic buddy of mine and he said that it's pretty common for the Ford rear ends to be improperly shimmed. I know one guy who had his rear end fixed said all they had to do was shim it .10" to the left and it fixed it. Mine too comes and goes with the gas pedal, which would lead me to believe that it's not a wheel bearing.
