Default horn-like noise coming from my engine

This is my first ford truck, I bought a 97 F-150 Lariat 4.6 and I love it! My only gripe is

I have read around on the internet and this forum and none seem like the right description or the same noise. This noise only happens when i am slowing down without my foot on the gas. As soon as I give it some gas, it goes away. I can also put it in park and sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesnt. I live in Texas and its only 30-45 degrees, so its not too cold.

Any help or links to other topics that you can share would be appreciated! I apologize if this has been solved elsewhere, but I couldnt seem to find a solution.

Check the PCV valve, they can make crazy noises sometimes. If you replace it, get a Motorcraft.

Common problem, it's the idle air control valve (IAC), the intake tubing/airbox is amplifying it.

That's why it goes away when you step on the gas, it's no longer idling.

PCV ...positive crankcase ventilation.

PVC ...polyvinyl chloride.
