Hesitation on 2006 F150 5.4
For 2yrs now ive been dealing with a hesitation. Knock sensor code came up and it was replaced. Still the hesitation was there, not as bad except when the ac is on or u try to pass someone. It finally threw some codes( Random Missfire and #4 Cylinder). So i changed the cop and the plug. Still Hesitating. It does'nt do it as bad when overdrive is off but still. I put alot of money in this already and for Ford to charge me to tell me what is wrong with the truck they sold me is ridiculous! Just wondering is there something else i might be able to check myself. I will try a can of fuel cleaner again which i did 1 yr ago. Thanks

Have you cleaned the throttle body and mass airflow sensor? Have you checked for vacuum leaks? How old and how many miles are on the O2 sensors? How many miles are on the rest of the plugs and COP boots besides cylinder 4?
Are you still getting a misfire code for cylinder 4? If so, you can swap the injector with another cylinder and see if the code follows.

The plugs and Coils were changed 2yrs ago. When the Knock sensor was changed the throttle body and maf were cleaned.Fuel filter was changed less than a yr ago.Has not thrown any codes yet since i reset them. Has 160,000 Miles. When i replaced the plug and cop i noticed i diddnt have to wiggle the boot off. it came off the plug way too easy. Its in the tightest spot of course with the fuel rail and another hose right on top. The cop is screwed down but still i wonder if it is just kinda of bouncing off the tip of the plug. I have no idea where the 02 Sensors are. Guess i will you tube it. Thanks Lewissa 81. If you have anymore advice i am all ears. Trust me i need all the help i can get. Thanks again..

There are 4 O2 sensors, 1 before the catalytic converters, and 1 after on both sides.
What do you consider horrible gas mileage? City driving averages 12 mpg if you have 4wd, 14-15 if you have 2wd.

Its 2wd. Just seems like that fuel guage is dropping drastically. Anyway i am going to throw some seafoam in it this weekend. Maybe this time it will help. Thanks..
