Help: Stuck starter

Thanks Richard. I've tried rubber mallet, I've tried to try to pry against the engine block, but it wouldn't budge at all. Gah, how embarrassing would it be if there was another bolt back there I missed? I got the one that's hidden and had assumed that that's the one. It's a 13mm like the others if I remember correctly.
Rnlcomp, I got that one. It was actually the first one I took out because it was so easy to get to.

Just a sugestion move to the front of the starter the end that isnt bolted to the truck check the 2 through bolts that hold the starter to gether and see if there is not a bracket on one of the bolts that is bolted to the engine block this brace is on some starters and not others

They haven't used that bracket in 20 years, The old bulky starters needed it due to it's size and weight. Since they went to a lighter aluminum high torque starter the bracket was eliminated. Trust me on this. The only application where they still might use it is diesel.

I just removed the starter on our 1989 E350 RV, a 460 7.5L engine. The starter has two mounting bolts (thank goodness!). I removed one bolt and thought that the other one was missing or broke off inside the mount hole. Anyway, after removing the one bolt I too had to wack the starter with a hammer or small maul to free it. However, the starter wouldn't come off. It was loose, but something was keeping it from being completely removed. I discovered that the bolt that I thought was missing or broke off was actually put in "backwards" from the other side. That mount hole on the starter is threaded, so the bolt had to come in from the other side in order to hold the starter on. A really tight area to get to that bolt head. Added a 6" extension and a deep well socket, used some patience and the bolt came right out!
I hope this helps others because I couldn't find this info anywhere else on the web.
