From what I'm seeing, there may or may not be one... i haven't found mine, would be inline with the heater core inlet hose but i don't see it anywhere... Wouldn't be in the engine valley would it?

Ford's do not have a heater control valve, the system is free flowing, the blend air door controls the temp.

I have to wonder if the new thermostat is working properly or installed upside down. Have seen that a few times.

I am gojng to check the thermostat. I couldnt find a heater contol valve. The thermostat is in correctly but I think it may be faulty or not foe the right temp.

My heater wasn't very good last winter, then this summer I noticed the temp gauge rising as I was sitting in a drive through, rev the engine the gauge would go back down, come to find out all the impellors were eaten away on the back of the water pump, now my heater works good. Evidently the water wasn't being circulated very well. I'm sure the pump was original with 220,000 miles on it.

To add to RNL's thoughts, I've not experienced it but I've heard new thermostats being bad out of the box more often than I'd expect.
