Default Heater core hose help

When reconnecting your heater core hoses to the water pump and thermostat, how do you tell what one goes to the pump and thermostat?

Help, as you can tell I'm real new...lol

Since there are no check valves in the heater core reconnecting them can be done either way. The water flow direction is determined by the pump. Usually the feed side (water pump hose) connects to the bottom line feeding the core and the return to the motor is the top.
