I have a 2011 Fx4 with about 80K. I noticed a few weeks ago the heated seat on the drivers side did not work. Well when I finally got around to investigating the issue I discovered burn marks on the seat pad from the wires of the heating element. So i started digging online and of course there was not recall for this. So I started looking on the forums and needless to say I am not the only one having this issue. So I called a few local dealer ships to find out part pricing/labor cost/ ect... Two different dealers told me they have replaced a few elements and it runs about $700.00 with parts and labor. So I called ford and they have said that they have not received enough calls on this issue to creat a recall. With that being said, everyone that has this issue needs to call Ford and let them know what is going on instead of just thinking you have to eat this repair. Picture posted.
