Fuse issue
Greetings all,
My 1992 f150 keeps blowing the #8 fuse when the electric mirror button is used. I've checked for bad connections or frayed wires but all looks good.
Any ideas in what else I need to be looking at?
Thanks in advance for any help with this.

That circuit is going to ground somewhere or the motor in the mirror is bad and it's shorting when you're trying to activate it to move the mirror. Is the power mirror the only thing coming from that fuse location?

Thanks for your help Benchwarmer!
The resource that I have says that the courtesy lamps, engine compartment light, speedometer memory, and warning chime are on the same fuse as the power mirrors. I also think the electronic shift control is affected when the fuse blows because it will shift hard (auto trans).
I appreciate your help.

Wowsers, that could be a good bit of wire to chase...What "resource" are you using, the owner's manual?
If it were me, I'd start with the motor. Also, you should verify (with a good fuse installed) that all of the other functions that you mentioned are working properly prior to trying to move the mirror.

If memory serves I had a truck at my shop with a similar problem and it turned out to be a broken spring in the vanity mirror lights. The spring that holds the door closed in the visor broke loose and found it's way to the light circuit. if you have lighted vanity mirrors in your visors check that.
