Default fuel pump driver module

Hi everyone. I'm working on a friend's 2001 F150. I'm pretty sure the fuel pump is shot. I want to know if it has a fuel pump driver module before I drop the tank. I didn't find one. It's a Triton XLT extended cab.
Thanks,

Bret

Lucky me. Mine was in very good shape when I checked it about 2 years ago.
As I saw no visible reason to replace it, I just removed it, painted with a good rust repellant paint - and will replace all plugs.

Don't drop the tank, raise the bed, it's much faster and easier. That's how we did it at the Ford dealer I worked at.

Take all the passenger side bolts out and only loosen the driver side bolts, that will allow you to jack the bed up (passenger side) with a floor jack and a 2x4 cut to length. Be sure you chock the bed with something so it don't fall on you while you're under it.

This way you don't have to disconnect anything else like the filler tube and wiring harness.

Nice! I suppose this would work on 04-08 body styles as well if you had to do some kind of maintenance on the tank?

I'm not entirely certain on those years but logic dictates yes. I left the dealer in 04 but every year model F series truck I worked on 88-04 was the same where access to the top of the fuel tank(s) is concerned.

Rangers were just as easy.

Yes this will work. Just did a fuel pump on a heritage at my father in laws and we just jacked up the bed.. a whole lot easier than dropping the tank, especially if it's full.
