Ford Warranty Issue
Not sure if this is in the right place, or even a proper question since its on a Ford but not an F-150. I have seen where a member here can help with warranty issues.
Here is the issue. A friend of mine has a Ford Explorer that is less than 3 years old, but over 36K miles so lots of warranty issues are out of miles. However, they have a 7 year warranty on the body that covers everything but paint.
They are having a corrosion issue with the hood (apparently fairly common) that Ford doesn't seem to want to see as a corrosion issue, I guess if they see it as a paint issue they don't have to cover it.
Can we "help" the dealer see this for what it is (A Corrosion Issue) and cover it under the 7 year body warranty?

I believe the 7 year corrosion warranty only covers panel perforation [rust through]
