Fluid Changes at High Mileage
I just hit 100k today in my 2010 4x4 Screw. It's a 5.4l Automatic. I know the official schedule says to replace everything at 150k miles, but i plan to run this truck until it dies, and was unsure if through personal experience any of yall had a different suggestion. I know if my last car, a Honda Odyssey known for its transmission issues, I never changed the ATF and the tranny died at around 170. Any tips to keep this beast going?
Thanks,
Ross

Boaman5, I've owned a lot of cars in my 50 yrs. And during that time I've developed my own personal maintenance rule of thumb for fluids which I use for all my cars. Oil: when my mileage is under 100k I change it at 3500 miles, once I pass 100k I go to 5000 miles. Anti-freeze: I change it every 50k miles or every 3 yrs. Tranny & rear dif fluid: I change them every 50k miles. Brake fluid: I change it at 75k miles or every 5 yrs regardless of miles driven.

just look at the fluid quality.. if the tranny fluid is still red keep it for a few more thousand.. same with brake/power steering....
i change front/rear diff's every 30-45k
radiator every 30k
nothing wrong with changing them early either.
