So after the dealer did the first 2 changes, I did my first one on my '14 EB today. Could Ford have made it any harder!? LOL

First off, I am having doubts that the dealer actually did my oil change LESS THAN 5,000 miles ago, because the old oil was about as black as I've ever seen on any oil change, and I've done a lot of at-home oil changes in my 50+ years.

Lastly, in the on-line videos I watched before doing it, it showed that there were TWO rubber covers over the square holes in the steel skid plate beneath the engine. On my '14, those holes were uncovered, and there were no covers. Is the latter correct? or did my dealer just take them off and toss them on one of the first two oil changes? Thanks.

Can anybody answer the question I posted above (about the rubber hole covers)? Thanks.

I find it hard to beat the standing price my dealer who is five miles away offers:

Complete oil change
Lube
Tire rotation

$29.95.

Where I bought my truck (Jax, FL) , it came with two "free" oil changes. Although on the 2nd change, they charged me for the 6th quart of oil! And actually, they tried to charge me for TWO extra quarts (in addition to the standard 5). I got testy with them, and said "I hope to God you didn't put in 7 quarts!" LOL

Never again, unless it's a warranty item.

Maybe its the same filter but some do feel more secure with the oem.
