First oil change in ecoboost
I'm going to be changing my oil this weekend for the first time, I know it needs 5w30. But I was wondering if there was a different weight recommended?
I was going to run Royal Purple since it's easy to get and was wondering if it's okay for a turbo engine? I've always used Schaeffer's in my diesels, but don't know where to purchase 5w30 Schaeffer.

Amsoil is good. Royal Purple is a waste of money (read the data sheets). Go to http://www.bobistheoilguy.com and you can find all the info you want.
Personal recommendation: Castrol blend, 5w-30. Ford only uses 5w-20 because they get a miniscule mileage increase which is advertised and targeted at fleets of trucks, not you.

I tried amsoil a long time ago with my first powerstroke and duramax, and later found out its not even a certified API oil. So I found Schaeffer's and it was great oil, but where I bought mine only sold 15w40 or 5w40. I have used royal purple in the past on mowers and my snowmobile and never gave me issues... so I was curious if it was good enough to run in my ecoboost

I agree, stay away from ScAmsoil! Most of their oil products are not API certified, which is a requirement from Ford for your warranty to stay valid. They also try to justify the inflated prices for their oil products with extended oil change intervals, which will also void your Ford warranty.
