It isn't actually the low side pressure pressure switch causing this, once the pressure reachs the range the low A/C switch closes it lets the clutch operate, it is the High pressure siwitch which is either not working right or more likely tripping because the pressure is too high. this is why I need and will purchase the proper manifold gauge set this next Friday so I can see exactly what is going on. They are not expensive you can get a good set for less then a $100 dollars.

That's a nice-looking set of gauges.
I bought a retro-fit kit from JC Whitney that included new gauge dials which included the R134 temperature curves in addition to the R12 and R22 curves, as well as adapters that screwed into the existing R12 screw-on taps that had the R134 snap-on taps. Have I ever mentioned that I pinch pennies so hard that the veins on Lincoln's neck pop out? :-)~

I hot wired the compressor so it would run independently of the clutch switch and drove this way while going to get some lunch. No cold air, and one thing interesting happened the air discharge switched to the defroster outlets. Now if this was one of my old Cadillacs I would check out the master vacuum switch, the Ford does not have anything like this. I pulled over and disconnected the hot wire. It is looking more and more like this truck is going into the shop.
