Does any one know what size 12pt socket unbolts the backside of the front drive shaft?

If I'm on the ground I use a box end wrench wth a pry bar stuck in the web of the shaft where the joint goes. If I'm using a lift I use a 12 point 12 mm impact scocket on my 3/8 drive impact wrench.

Im waiting on a used drive shaft for this thing. My brother keeps telling me its the trans that is making it shutter.

I noticed it only shakes going up hill he seems to think it is the torque convertor. But I think its the drive shaft. It only starting shaking right before I replaced a really really really bad universal joint. I think that bad universal joint messed up the drive shaft balance

Does any one know if it could be the torque convertor?

It also fells like its going to stall when im at a top light
and when I put it in park at the time it comes back to life.

Usually your driveshaft out of balance will give a vibration on accel when its under the most load. The speed he is describing the shake at is the EXACT speed a tire balance issue is at. Tranny Shudder will be exagerated when it is kicked in a lower gear like he describes in an earlier post. I haven't seen everything in the world, but unless the rear end is coming apart I have not seen one cause a shudder going straight. If the rear tires are the same size and its a LS then there is no slip on the clutches going straight. I say do a high speed balance, do an alignment. It will not cause a shake normally, but if the toe is WAAAAYYY out it can because the tires are fighting friction. The center support if it has one can cause a vibration at a constant speed and go away under accel though. Might look into that.

This vibrating problem starting right before I put on the new unversal joint. I thought it could be that one of the tires was off balance because one tires needs air every few months. But I checked the pressure in all them and its still good. The vibrating only happens when I hit that gas at around 45. Once I let off the gas it stops. When I hit 60 the problem also goes away. Any one know whats wrong ?

it sounds like a tire is out of balance what size tires do you have and do you have steel or alum. rims

Your brother may be right. If the converter is not releasing when you pull up to a stop the converter is bad. When the joint went out it may have blew the oneway sprag.
