i put in a new slave and master cylinder on the clutch but have not pulled a load yet. i got in a fight with a log splitter and lost a left thumb so i'm in low gear. no one said anything about the fly wheel. do you think that could be a problm? thanks david

I guess most of us make the assumption that when the clutch was changed the flywheel was re-surfaced or at leas de-glazed. If not then yes hot spots and a glazed flywheel can cause clutch slippage. If that is the case then I would put in ANOTHER clutch and resurface or replace the flywheel.

You don't suppose some of the fluid from the throwout barring/slave cylinder got on to the clutch plate do you.

There is only one thing I can think of, this is a problem you run into with BMW motorcycles, and the older air cooled VW's it is the splines the clutch slides on the input shaft to the transmission. If the splines are damaged in anyway the clutch will hang up and not engage properly. It is sometimes really hard to spot the problem with a casual look. This would explain why you are having the same problem with the new parts.
