Engine shutting off when coming to a stop
Hey Everyone,
I'm new to the forum but I've visited many times throughout the years and always seemed to find a solution to my problem, but I haven't found anything exactly like this problem.
A little info:
2009 STX 4x4
4.6L V8
~85,000 miles
Has been well maintained
For the past couple months the engine on my truck has been randomly stalling out when coming to stops. It started by stalling out a few times in one day, it would start right back up half the time and the other half would turn over but would never really start until I gave it some time to sit. At this point no codes would come up.
So my first attempt at repairing it, was to just clean the throttle body. This seemed to work for a couple of weeks, and then it happened again, but this time threw an engine code for an oxygen censor upstream from the catalytic converter, and I replaced it that day.
A few days went by without the problem coming up again and then it died again. This time I cleaned the MAFS (Mass Air Flow Sensor) and it hasn't died since then, but today I stopped to get gas and it wouldn't start for about 20 minutes in the same exact way that has been paired with the engine stalling out before.
Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.
