Engine ran rough, then fine
Ok, here's one of those "the car did a funny thing but isn't anymore... is something wrong?" stories. I figure it better to bounce this off you folks first before talking to a shop.
I was cruising along at about 90 km/h... pulled out to pass someone and just as I reached passing speed (~110 km/h), the engine hesitated and started running very rough. The CEL began flashing. I was able to complete the pass (the engine still had plenty of power) and started scanning for a place to pull over. A couple hundred metres later, the engine smoothed right out and the CEL stopped flashing and went dark. I decided to continue on to my destination... and then home again later. No further roughness or hesitation after 200 or so kms.
Any thoughts? Just a hiccup? It's an 09 5.4L with 199000 kms on the odo.

A flashing CEL indicates a Mis-Fire condition... Tune-up time !

Local dealer found misfire codes stored on 3 cylinders and quoted me $2500 for new plugs, a new RH exhaust manifold, fuel induction service plus an alignment and tire rotation (unrelated to the misfires).
Getting a second opinion tomorrow.

It may be a tune up, but in my experience if it does it for a short time, then quits, you have a coil getting ready to go. See what the obd says if it says anything.
This exact thing happened on my 98 Expedition 5.4, and my 2003 f150 FX4. Coil failed soon after.
Check the one under the heater core connection, first. JMHO.
Best regards.
