EGR ports need cleaning
1998 F150 2WD XLT SC V8 4.6LSo my check engine light is on. Diagnostic says EGR fault. Had my truck in at the dealership about 4 yrs ago for the same thing. Have been told this is a common thing on the 4.6L. Is this something i can do myself or better left up to the true professionals?

On my Dad's 98 the ports where the egr valve flows into the throttle body, the ports were clogged inside the throttle body. I took it off and used B12 chemtool and a small wire or pick to clean it out until I got fluid to come out of the egr port. The light has been out for 4 monthes now.
