ECM replacement advice? Tips? 2000 F150 V6 5spd
I have come to the conclusion the ECM is bad and I'm getting tired of driving a handicapped vehicle.

Can anyone give me any tips, hint, advice etc on replacing the ECM? I've read where only a dealer can replace them because the new one has to be programmed or 'flashed' to the vehicle. Then I've read where all you have to do is use a scan tool to program the new one. I'd really rather do it myself.
