Dont know if this is the right place

Default Dont know if this is the right place

Purchased the truck an dropped the oil pan an this is what I found.can anyone tell me what this is from,they won't stick to a magnet.

Im not sure what it is but it appears to be metallic. I would drop the pan again after a few thousand miles, if its not doesnt appear a second time I wouldn't worry about it. If its an older motor, the previous owner could of added Restore. That stuff has zinc in it and other stuff to fill in scratches in the cylinder walls. Some could has accumulated in the bottom of the pan

It's an 05 with 134k and they said it dropped oil pressure so they shut it off...

And pistons are made of cast aluminum alloy, which wouldn't be metallic. Sounds like a motor ran low on oil
