Default Disabling shift interlock

How to disable the shift interlock on a 2005 f150, column shift mine hangs sometimes and doesnt allow me to shift from park, dont have the money to fix it, can i just disable it and still have everything like brake lights and cruise control, any help is appreciated

The switch you're speaking about is actually wired with the brake pedal. It's a part of the neutral safety system to prevent you from putting it in gear w/o your foot on the brake. I'm not sure but it could be a mechanical attachment on the pedal itself. Try Googling Neutral safety switch for your truck year or at least get a wire diagram and follow it to the brake light switch. Also the next time it sticks try pumping the brake pedal and see if it releases the shifter.
